Universal Declaration of Human Rights
On 10 December 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which states the basic human rights, also known as fundamental rights.
The UDHR continues to be of great importance as a general moral and legal standard, as a commonly used source for a new international treaty or national constitution, and as a basis for the work of human rights activists and organisations.
